// 02 — Services

Voice-Over Services for Games

Character voices, narration, dubbing, subtitling. Your game's emotional impact preserved across languages.

Original Voice-Over Production

We match native-speaking voice talent to your character descriptions: age, personality, emotional range. You review demos from our library, or we search for new talent. Pick your favorites, and we handle the recording sessions.

Voice-Over Localization & Dubbing

Localize your existing voice-over into new markets. Native-speaking talent delivers character dialog, narration, and cutscenes that carry the emotional intent of your original. Need lip-sync or time-sync? We match timing precisely.

Subtitling

Accessible gaming with smooth, well-timed captions. SRT, VTT, ASS formats supported. We handle timing, line breaks, and readability so subtitles don't block the action or rush past players.

Non-Dialogue Vocals

Battle cries, effort sounds, laughter, sighs, victory cheers. The emotional punctuation that makes combat and exploration feel alive. We record these alongside character dialogue for consistent voice quality.

What Affects Your Quote

We price per word. Below is what shifts the rate up or down.

  • Target languages and number of voice talents needed
  • Character complexity (calm narration vs. dramatic performance)
  • Multi-character optimization (one talent voicing several roles)
  • Pre-recording script proofreading (with native linguists)
  • Post-production requirements (effects, sync, slicing)
  • Timeline (standard vs. rush delivery)

What Game Studios Say

“We greatly appreciated the support of Alconost in accommodating voice actor casting and voice-over recordings. Their supportive approach impressed me. They respond to my needs in a friendly and professional way and deliver results quickly.”

Tina Gu
Localization Product Manager, Braeve

“Alconost gets the most out of their voice actors. Whatever you're looking for, they make it happen. It's nice that the company is ready to fulfill complex, unusual orders. And all this in several languages!”

Anton Zaitsev
CEO, Avatarico

“Out of more than 2,000 files for each language, we only had to make corrections to maybe 20. We had zero complaints about the rest. Voice over costs are nothing that would startle developers who know the price of programmers' labor.”

Eugeny Maroz
Chief Product Officer, Happymagenta

Frequently Asked Questions

How do you select voice actors for my characters?
We review your character briefs and suggest matching actors from our demo library. If your target language or character requires it, we search for new talent. You listen to samples and pick your favorites. This talent selection and search process is free and included with every project.
Can you record custom auditions for my specific lines?
Yes. For recurring clients and large-scale projects, we can record custom audition samples with your specific content. This helps when you need to hear exactly how an actor handles your dialogue before committing.
What if I don't like the suggested voices?
We keep suggesting alternatives until you're satisfied. There's no limit on how many demos you can review during the selection process.
Can you record multiple characters with different voices?
Absolutely. We manage multi-character projects with as many voice actors as you need. For example, we voiced 20+ characters with 5 actors for Camelot: Wrath of the Green Knight (listen to samples). One skilled actor can often voice several distinct characters, which helps with budget optimization.
Can you add special audio effects like robot voice or echo?
Yes. We apply post-processing effects including robotic filters, echo, radio static, underwater distortion, and other treatments to match your game's environments.
Do you use human or AI-generated voices?
Our standard offering uses professional human voice actors. For clients with limited budgets or specific use cases, we offer AI-generated voice options with human oversight to maintain quality. We talk through the trade-offs honestly and help you decide what's right for your project.
What file formats do you deliver?
WAV, MP3, OGG, or any format your engine requires. We also accommodate specific sample rates, bit depths, and mono/stereo preferences.
Can you slice files and name them according to our convention?
Yes. We deliver each line as a separate file, named according to your naming scheme. Files are ready to drop into your audio middleware or engine without manual renaming.
How long does a typical voice-over project take?
Timeline depends on script length, number of languages, and complexity. A standard project (one language, 4 voice talents, up to 1,000 words overall) typically takes 4-7 business days after talent selection is complete. We always provide a timeline estimate upfront and can accommodate rush delivery if needed.
How is pricing calculated?
We price per word. The actual rate depends on the project — script volume, languages, how demanding the role is, how many talents work on the project, pre- and post-production extras, and timeline. There are no fixed packages or universal price-lists. We give you a ballpark estimate up front, then a final quote once you've selected talents.
Is there a minimum order?
Yes, the minimum order value is $300. Even at this minimum, you get the full process — from talent selection to post-production — not a stripped-down version.
Can you handle ongoing updates and DLC?
Yes. We keep your character profiles and voice direction notes on file, so updates and DLC don't mean explaining your characters all over again.
What if my script is only in one language? Can you translate it for voice-over?
Yes. Translation is handled by our native linguists in the target language — those with a Translation Quality Index (TQI) of 95% or higher. TQI is our internal metric tracking each linguist's accuracy across past projects, so the translators we put on your script have a proven quality record.

The result is a translation that reads natively and is ready for the recording booth — no need to handle the translation step on your side. Translation is priced separately from the voice-over itself, but on the cost of recording across multiple languages, it's a small line item that lets you skip the translation work in-house.
My script is already translated. Will you voice it word-for-word as is?
We can — but if your lines were translated by a non-native speaker of the target language, we strongly recommend proofreading it with our native linguist before recording. Awkward wording, mistranslations, or rhythm issues that slip through in text become very audible when spoken — and they cause stumbles in the booth and re-records.

Proofreading is priced separately, but on the cost of voice-over, it's a small line item that smooths out the recording session and saves rounds of corrections later.
