What is editing?
Editing is a creative process that transforms texts, improving the quality of the phrasing and making them more coherent and easy to read.
Editors check texts for both style and form.
Both editing and proofreading can be performed on a cloud platform, your own CMS, or in files.
What is proofreading?
Proofreading involves checking texts for errors in grammar, syntax, and punctuation.
Proofreaders check texts for form but not for quality of expression.
To determine the quality of a source text to be proofread and the applicable proofreading rate, a free initial assessment is performed.
A second pair of eyes
To guarantee top-quality, we offer tandem translation, where one translator translates and a second translator checks the work of the first one as the project progresses, ensuring that the correct meaning is maintained in the target language. This verification step adds 50% to the translation rate.

FAQ
Is it always necessary to proofread a translation?
Proofreading is an additional step in the translation workflow. It is needed so that you can be sure that there are no errors in the text and that it flows naturally. Usually, proofreading is needed if a non-native speaker or not a professional linguist worked on the translation and/or editing. When translating highly specialized texts, we also recommend proofreading so that all terms are chosen correctly and in accordance with the context. We also recommend proofreading the text if its translation was carried out without taking the context into account (for example, the translation of interface elements without considering the position of these elements).
Is proofreading billed per hour or per character?
Proofreading is priced per 1,000 characters including spaces. This is a convenient universal approach that helps to objectively and uniformly assess the cost of work.
Why is the proofreading cost different for different languages?
Proofreading rates may vary by language. This is due to the availability of a specialist who will proofread the text and the complexity of the language. Rarer languages have higher proofreading rates.
What languages do you translate into?
We translate into more than 120 languages, including the most popular (English, Chinese, Japanese, German, French, Spanish), and rarer ones, and even dialects. Please, request a quote to estimate your project cost.
We can find a translator in almost any language that the client needs, depending on his product and goals. Sometimes localization into niche languages can offer better prospects than localization into mainstream languages.
In case some rare language is not on the list, we can help with searching and recruiting linguists.
