FAQ
Do I need to set up anything manually?
Tolgee is easy to install and configure. Once it's running, Alconost handles translations directly on the platform.
What languages do you support?
Over 100 languages, with specialists in gaming, SaaS, mobile apps, and more.
Can I use machine translation as a first draft?
Absolutely. We can post-edit MT content to fit into a tight budget while still delivering high-quality output.
How do you maintain translation quality?
We follow a multi-step internal quality assurance process for our translation projects. This includes quality checkpoints throughout the entire project, regular quality assessments of our translators, analysis of client feedback, and the use of a specialized platform for quality checking.
How do you address cultural nuances in localization?
Our translators are native speakers with at least two years of localization experience and a strong understanding of your target market's culture. Instead of translating word for word, they focus on delivering messages that feel natural, local, and culturally appropriate. If anything in the source text is unclear, they'll reach out to clarify the context before moving forward.
What Alconost & Tolgee Founders Say

Jan Cizmar
Founder & CEO
Localization used to be the most painful part of our workflow — so much so that missing translations were our most common bug. I wanted a better way. For my master’s thesis, I built a prototype that let developers edit text directly in the app interface. It worked, and it sparked the idea for Tolgee. In 2021, I co-founded the company with Marketa Cizmar, and we’ve since grown Tolgee into a powerful open-source localization platform used by startups and enterprise teams alike. With the support of our €500K seed round from Flying Founders in 2024, we’re doubling down on what we set out to do: make localization intuitive, collaborative, and built for real-world dev teams.

Alexander Murauski
Founder & CEO
Back in 2004, I was building and selling my own software online. Translating it from English into other languages was a constant challenge. I realized I wasn’t alone: many developers were struggling to localize their products. That’s when I brought together a small team of native-speaking translators, and Alconost was born. Our mission has always been to make localization easier for both developers and product teams. Since 2013, we've started partnering with leading localization platforms to help bring structure and speed to the process. Partnering with Tolgee was a natural next step. Their developer-first approach and in-context tools align with how we believe localization should work: fast, flexible, and built into your tech stack.
